I’ve also learned I’m having more kids. That’s all I can say about that right now. My daughter wasn’t accepted into the after-school program was full, and so I’m left with limited time and a future where I’m going to have more human responsibilities. But my desire to bring frequent, nuanced discussions about video games is stronger than before.

So, yes. I made the pivot to YouTube primarily for discovery. No one knows I, or this site, exist. I at least need to try to see if I can get this name out there somehow.

As for now, I’ll pivot back to weekly roundups of all the content I’ve posted to YouTube, which will mostly be Shorts because that’s been doing well, relative to my small unknown channel. If you’re curious, my YouTube channel is here.

What I’m still missing is time to discuss the news happening around the games industry, so Substack might be the place to do that. We’ll see how time works for that.

For now, expect a return of The Daily Demo on YouTube, except it will be called “PlayTested” as I don’t think I can do it daily.

And then in 2027, I’ll be launching a series of Shorts where I play games from that year and then rank them all throughout the year until The Game Awards. I think it’ll be a fun way to talk about the games, and you can create your own list, and we can compare at the end of the year. I think that’ll be fun.

Here are the videos I’ve posted on my YouTube channel so far, and then I’ll update weekly. Thanks for reading and watching!

Overwatch released Doctrine for a hero trial this past weekend. He seems to be beloved, but is he broken?

Author’s Note: Totally forgot to upload this yesterday. I got distracted by electrician’s coming to my house to fix a surge issue. So there will be two episodes today!

Anthony played the Crazy Taxi Closed Network test and didn’t think it was a strong showing, though there was some good to take away.

Anthony reacts to his latest play of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. He thinks it’s got strong bones and a lot of muscle.

Anthony enjoyed the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 presentation, but the real surprise was that it was only going to be $60 digitally in a world where Mario Kart World is $80.

Anthony reacts to the PlayStation State of Play for September 2026 and felt that few of the games inspired his desire to want to play them.

He also talks about Xbox’s recent move to include limits on Cloud gaming play time. He thinks it’s part of a broader industry move to squeeze existing players.

Anthony checked out the newest Overwatch World Cup event. He’s disappointed with how Team 4 continues to run contests when more exciting options exist.

Anthony’s home remodel is demanding his attention so he only talks about Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and he’s finding it clunky in many ways.

Anthony is over Blood Dungeon. It’s not well-balanced.

He thinks Grand Theft Auto 6 doesn’t need 60 FPS, and anyone who thinks that doesn’t care about the game.

Rockstar changed how car jacking worked for Grand Theft Auto 6. Anthony thinks it’s the right decision, even if it alienates some players.

He also talks about Blood Dungeon and that he enjoys it, but it’s more flawed than he anticipated.

Anthony shares his glowing thoughts about 007 First Light, and he believes it should be a GOTY nominee.

He also delves into his thoughts about the extended trailer and the wider reaction some have that it feels like just more GTA.

Anthony explains the rationale and context behind a 2XKO developers’ thoughts after Riot announced it is no longer receiving updates.

After the mediocre Opening Night Live to kick off Gamescom, Anthony thinks it’s time for Gamescom and other events to change their approach to showcasing games.

Anthony’s been playing 007 First Light and is seeing why it’s been one of the more highly rated games this year, despite being early in the game.

He explains how this year’s Call of Duty could change Xbox’s strategy after seeing its mixed reception.

Anthony opens the podcast discussing where Forza Horizon could go with DLC, inspired by watching The Fast and the Furious this weekend.

He thinks Star Wars Zero Company could become the best XCOM-like based on the previews.

We might be able to start making a Christmas song out of this. “On the third day of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks, my leaker gave to me… One biplane flying, and gun shots in a concrete wall.” For a company that wants to curate the exposure, the lack of exposure keeps biting them in the butt. It is good we’re seeing more of the game, and this amount of silence shouldn’t be accepted anymore.

[UPDATE] GTA 6 Suffers Third Day of Leaks, Latest Video Suggests Leakers Have Access to a Build of the Game

A hacker is leaking all kinds of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay, and they won’t stop until Rockstar confirms discs on release. That’s not going to happen because of timing, but the sentiment is real. I don’t condone the leaks, but I understand it.

[UPDATE] GTA 6 Suffers Second Day of Leaks as Group Reportedly Responsible Continues Threats

Blizzard launched Overwatch Season 4 called Heroes of Busan. It features D.Mon, who is part of a squad of mecha users similar to D.Va, who’s been a staple since Overwatch began 10 years ago. The biggest changes improve Overwatch, but are clearly prioritizing monetization, and D.Mon didn’t launch well.
